Seahawks Crap In Nest On Sunday Night Football
Two weeks in a row that Seattle plays like dookie! <sarcasm>At least tonight it was on national TV.</sarcasm> Seattle fans wonder why our team never gets any respect - we don't deserve it!

Seahawks vs Saints
The Saints are better than their record reflects and for that matter, so are the Seahawks. Seattle should be mad after last week's debacle in Pittsburgh and needs to keep the Saints away from any big plays and hopefully Seattle's offense can get into some sort of rhythm with or without Alexander playing very well (although he likes playing at Sunday night) and no Deion Branch.

Pathetic in Pittsburgh
Not sure there is anything to say about this game - I was hoping the Seahawks could fair pretty well today considering how many starters for the Steelers were out of the game today.

D-Jack Traded & Weaver Stinkin' Up the Safe
In other news: Jeff Weaver managed to get one out last night against the Royals and allow 6 runs and a walk. He is now 0-4 for the season with an 18.26 ERA and near the top of a list you don't want to be even close to (link). Relax, dude - you are better than this! (link) [Boxscore]

3rd Down Futility
The Seattle Seahawks' season ended today at Soldier Field in Chicago - Chicago won 27 - 24 in overtime and will face the New Orleans Saints for the NFC Championship next week.
I think the most telling stat of the game is the fact that Seattle was 0 for 7 on 3rd downs with 3 or less yards to go. This is pathetic and I believe the biggest reason why Seattle lost. Chicago was almost giving the game away at the end and Seattle's complete inability to move that chains when it mattered most, cost them the game.

NFL Wildcard Predictions
Game 1: Kansas City Chiefs at Indianapolis Colts
This could be a good game if the Chief's can keep Manning off of the field and let Larry Johnson run, run and run some more. If the Chiefs get too far behind and need to pass - look out. This will be the year that Indy wins a playoff game and will beat the Chiefs.
Final score: Chiefs 28 Colts 31
Post-game Update: The Colts' defense dominated this game and held the Chiefs to 7 first downs. The Colts win 23 - 8 (link)
Game 2: Dallas Cowboys at Seattle Seahawks
Man, this should be the most interesting game of the weekend IF Seattle can play four quarters. I'm listening to the rain hit the windows as I type this - the weather and the 12th man will help Seattle beat Dallas and shut TO up for a few months. Final score is tough to call it could be a shoot-out, but the weather will keep the scores down - Josh Brown will save the day!
Final score: Cowboys 17 Seattle 20
Post-game update: It was ugly, but a win is a win in the post-season. Hasselbeck and Stevens hooked-up twice for touchdowns. Seahawks win 21 - 20 (link)
Game 3: New York Jets at New England Patriots
Go Jets - the Jets have had an interesting year and they will continue the ride and beat the Patriots on Sunday. The season series is tied, but the Jets will win this one.
Final score: Jets 31 Patriots 24
Post-game update: The Patriots were too much for the Jets and won 37 - 16 (link)
Game 4: New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles
Garcia will continue to roll and the Eagles will beat the Giants, who will continue their internal turmoil.
Final score: Giants 21 Philadelphia 31
Post-game update: Philly made the plays they needed to and the Giants just couldn't get it together. Philly wins 23 - 20 (link)

Seahawks Eeek Out Another Win
The Seattle Seahawks won another game this season with a 50-yard field goal by Josh Brown with 5 seconds remaining to put Seattle on top over Denver - final score Seattle 23 Denver 20.
Sure wish the Giants would have beat the Cowboys (Paul was going to kick a cat over that one) to give us a little help in the conference - I don't see how Seattle can win multiple games in the post season on the road. They should be better than last year's team. I know - key injuries, but what the heck is up with the defense?
This isn't the BCS, so a win is a win and I'll take it. Go Hawks!

Seahawks Beat Green Bay on MNF
I'm posting this a little late since I just got home - it doesn't take much to make a snowstorm in Seattle and takes even less to mess up the traffic. No, I wasn't at the game, although it would have been nice to see Brett Favre play. The game was pretty much a tale of two halves - Hasselbeck looked pretty rusty in the first half and threw three interceptions. He came back with three touchdown tosses in the second half - the Seahawk locker room has to have been an interesting sight the last few games... Shawn Alexander ran for 201 yard in 40 carries. Final score Seattle 34 Green Bay 24.

Week 11 - Seattle Seahawks MIA
Suprise, suprise - it appears that the Seahawks didn't plan on taking San Francisco too seriously today. The first half is complete and the Forty-Niners take a 20-0 lead into the locker-room. I'd love to be a fly on the wall in the Seahawks locker-room - are they ever going to play four quarters of football in a single game this year?
4:30pm Update:
What is worse? Your team plays a great competitive game and comes up short or your team doesn't even show up? The Seahawks looked pathetic today - granted, San Francisco is playing much better now than at the beginning of the year, but Seattle should have run away with this one.

- Rocky Mountain Sea Hawkers makes a good point - next week is a must win game on MNF before the Hawks visit Denver. Nice looking blg RMSH!

Hutchinson Gone - New LB in Seahawks Future?
By John Clayton and Len Pasquarelli
ESPN.com
"The Seahawks decided Monday not to match the seven-year, $49 million offer sheet on Steve Hutchinson, allowing the All-Pro guard to go to the Minnesota Vikings."
...
"Once the deadline came and went, the Seahawks moved toward adding a big-time player to their defense, reaching a contract agreement with former 49ers linebacker Julian Peterson, one of the premier players still in the unrestricted free agent market." (Full Story)

Steelers 21 Seahawks 10
It was a very entertaining game - it came down to three plays (the only three plays Pittsburgh made), some bad Seahawk mistakes and some very questionable officiating - a Super Bowl should never have bad officiating.
Congrats to the Pittsburgh Steelers, you had one heck of a season and a great post season.
The Fan sums the game up very well (link)
Special Teams play definitely played a key factor (like I predicted) - 2 missed field goals (they were long, though), Rouen was off all game and WTF was Warrick doing?

Super Bowl XL Stuff
For the record - I believe the Seahawks will win the game tomorrow. It should be a close game if both teams play like they are capable of playing. It may come down to -gulp- special teams play, who has the last possession or who makes the last mistake. Final score Seahawks 27 Steelers 24

- Senators Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell have also made a bet with Pennsylvania's junior senator Rick Santorum. If the Steelers win, Santorum gets apples, salmon, and coffee. However, if the Seahawks win, his wife has to have an abortion. Hat-tip to Seattlest
